From Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, there's a lot to be curious about in the world. With TTRPG more popular than ever and the 1999 film practically erased from the general public's memory, it made sense that Hollywood capitalized on big name actors like Chris Pine and Reggie-Jean. Now, after several delays and the D&D game itself mired in controversy, is Honor Among Thieves ... so good?
Yes, that seems to be the general consensus you see in Southwest Austin, Texas! Produced by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daly, the film was praised by critics and audiences as a good time with great humor and comedic energy. For those worried about the film's departure from the source material, some of those viewers pointed out that it captures the spirit of the game very well. And judging by the notes of those who saw him, he didn't seem to be ashamed of himself.

As brilliantly acclaimed as you can see above, Paramount must have been bragging about this quote in the weeks leading up to D&D' s release. The studio has had a great year with films like Top Gun: Maverick and Scream 5 and surprise hits like Smileys and The Lost City. Between D&D and Scream 6 this weekend , Paramount kicked off 2023 on a high note, with the likes of Mission: Impossible: Dead Man's Payback and Transformers: The Beast Rises .
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves hits theaters March 31. We here at io9 didn't go to SXSW and didn't get a chance to see it, but we were hoping to get some reviews of the film closer to its release.
