I measure the quality of an actor by the strength with which he remembers his performance for a long time. Any actor who does that gets a lot of points in my book. When I was growing up in the 90s, there were two actors who excited me the most: Mammootty (Sukrutam, Thanyyavarthanam) and Mohanlal (Aham, Sadayam). Who does the same in Malayalam films today? I can name the word "Jojo George" which offers a lot of heartbreaking work. After Nayat comes Erat, which brings some of the names that helped bring its predecessors to life, as well as new talent, director Rohit MG Krishnan.

Some movies start slow but pick up speed over time. Even before the opening credits, Erata clings to us and can't keep up. The simple sequence of two boys playing cricket around the police station heightens the tension and culminates in a heartbreaking incident, who would have thought this accident would cause such pain to an already ailing police officer. The death of a relative of DYSP Pramod (Joju George) plunges his twins, as well as the policeman Vinod (again Joju George) into a whirlwind of traumatic emotions.

Erat effectively does two things: 1) continues the style of analyzing testimony from various Rashomon suspects, and 2) investigates the backstory and identities of Pramod and Vinod in an effort to find a crucial piece of evidence that may solve this case. It's gripping mystery and character exploration at the same time.

Jojo Pramod and Vinod embody two opposing characters. Pramod was the more reserved of the two, he was not a gentleman; Vinod is a freer version and has some bad qualities. How do you distinguish them? The latter generally have an average attitude, different eye colors and a tendency to reject anyone, regardless of gender, when they walk into a room. What makes JoJo's performance so impressive is that despite having played controversial characters in Haki before (Joseph and Nayatu were prime examples), Pramod, Vinod and those characters have nothing in common. commmon. The Gemini Actor is full of so many variations and characteristics that it is not difficult to identify him.

Pramod and Vinod had their differences, but they had one thing in common - a nasty history with women. The past is difficult for them: wives, daughters, companions... all of this is not easy, and men are responsible for it. A man who saved a woman from the hands of a despotic and cruel ex-husband will be thrown into another hell, which he created himself. Another man regrets having insulted his wife, in ten years he hopes to see her again and with a girl he does not know. There is a third circumstance, closely linked to the fate of the two brothers, the most serious of all.

There's a reason these two people are twins. This choice of storyline makes a lot of sense when we get to the gruesome ending moments where you wonder what might have happened if two different actors had played it. I don't know if that's true, but I remember someone recently telling me that Pramod and Vinod were originally cast with non-twin actors. However, JoJo later decided to play both due to the wide range of possibilities offered by this type of material. I assume it was edited correctly by Rohit who removed it from the script. It's a smart choice because it creates a satisfying ending that outshines Nayata in my book. When it comes to mainstream violence, Irata believes in the maxim that "less is more" and offers complex psychological implications that make me wonder what George George or Padmarjan were up to.

Jacques Béjoie's unwavering and frozen soundtrack is perfectly integrated into the story. Manu Anthony's haircut is the most impressive. Cinematographer Vijay works with Cinematographer Vijay to deliver striking and memorable visuals. The film shares a common charm with Nayatu. If you love the look of Nayat and the style of directing that elevates her, chances are you'll love Iratan too.
